HYBRID LEARNING
The Darien High School Hybrid Plan follows an eight-day rotation with block periods, which will be con- tinued into the full, in-person learning model. Mondays through Thursdays, the building will run at approx- imately fifty percent student capacity using an alphabetical split. Students with last names beginning with letters A-K will attend in-person for two consecutive days, while students with last names beginning with L-Z will attend in-person for two consecutive days. When students are not attending class in-person, they are attending school virtually via live streaming/Zoom with teachers in classrooms. Most student assessments will take place during in-person attendance. All students will learn remotely on Fridays, which is a shortened day to allow for teacher collaboration and professional learning. ELP Hybrid Plan - Students in the ELP program will attend school four days a week. As a result of increased space availability during hybrid days, students may access additional rooms with staff members to practice additional physical distancing. Friday students with IEP services will receive remote support on Friday of each week when operating in the Hybrid model.
