HYBRID LEARNING

Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy - Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy will operate within the hybrid model established for all classes. Services will be provided consistent with the IEP to the greatest extent possible. Providers should prioritize scheduling in-person services, while maintaining physical dis- tancing, PPE requirements, and following hand washing protocols whenever possible. However, there may be times where it is appropriate to provide the service remotely (e.g., if a student receives the service daily and is not in the building daily). PT and OT providers should document all services provided. At times, students may require physical support (e.g., walking) that cannot be provided at the recommended physical distance. Increasing the frequency of hand washing and strict adherence to recommendations for wearing appropriate PPE, will be necessary in these situations. Paraprofessional Support - Paraprofessionals support a wide variety of student needs. Whenever possible, paraprofessionals should follow the procedures and guidance regarding physical distancing, PPE, and hand washing. Paraprofessionals should work with their students’ case managers, nurses and building adminis- trators to determine if and how their support can be adapted to prioritize safe physical distancing. At times, students may require physical support (e.g., toileting or diaper changes) that cannot be provided at the rec- ommended physical distance. Increasing the frequency of hand washing and ensuring proper PPE is worn at all times will be necessary in these cases. Music - Music will operate within the hybrid model established for all classes.

Paraprofessionals will continue to support teachers and students via eLearning platforms (e.g., Zoom, Google Meet) during remote learning.

Evaluations - Staff will be required to complete evaluations. During the reopening of school, the priority for all staff will be to ensure students’ social, emotional, and physical well-being. The administration will work closely with the evaluation teams to consider appropriate timelines for beginning evaluations and prioritiza- tion structures for completing overdue evaluations. Evaluators will work closely with the administration in determining best practices for conducting evaluations while complying with safety requirements. As each evaluation process is different, teams will work together to determine how to assess the student with the greatest fidelity possible while considering their unique needs.
