IN PERSON LEARNING: GIFTED EDUCATION
As a result of school closure in the spring, evaluations for gifted education services were not completed; therefore, a plan has been created to complete the process in a timely manner while keeping in mind the needs of our students as they get to know their teachers and classmates, as well as learn new health and safety rou- tines. When students return to school, Gifted education faculty will continue to assess students; the schedule of assessments will vary by grade level and student cohort. Once the assessments are complete, identification meetings will take place. All students who are identified as Gifted will begin to receive services at the be- ginning of October. Gifted education faculty will collaborate with administrators and teachers to establish a schedule for delivering instruction accordingly. For students who are opting out of in person instruction for remote learning, an alternative testing schedule and location will be established in the District. For students who can not attend, assessments will be com- pleted when they return to school.
